| Knott's Berry Farm. As Make-up Artist Assistant, my responsibilities included applying prosthetic and theatrical make-up to performers of their annual "Halloween Haunt". I was assigned 3-5 performers each night, with approximately 30-45 minutes to complete each character. I also assisted in the fabrication of blood packs for the nightly stage show called, "The Hanging". I also assisted in the breaking down of the Make-up Department on the last night of the haunt, where the various molds, tables, airbrushes, and make-up supplies are safely stored away until the next year. (October through November, 2001/2002.) Lubatti Designs Unlimited. My own original line of high-quality latex Halloween masks, propsial make-up effects. Desiging, sculpting, molding, casting, air brushing and finishing Halloween masks and props for sale through nation-wide distributors. I also provide custom masks on a freelance basis to other manufacturers, as well as commissioned pieces for private collectors. (August 1997 through Present.) Make-up and Effects Designer for Louis Robidoux Nature Center's annual Haunted Nature Trail, in Riverside, California. I created numerous original prosthetics, custom latex masks, props and set pieces for this popular charity haunt. I've also volunteered as a performer several years in a row. (March 1997 through November 2001) Created many prosthetic appliances, mechanical devices and props as lessons from Dick Smith's "Advanced Professional Make-up Techniques". (Ongoing.) "Instant Muscles". Student film directed by Mark Shogren. For this film, my main objective was to design and produce two sets of elaborate latex air bladders to be worn by a small child furing the final sequence. I also sculpted a polyurethane rock for a stunt scene, in which the lead character is hit on the head with a stone by another boy. (September, 2001.) "The Tomato Patch". Student film directed by David Brock. On this film, it was my responcibility to desigh and fabricate an artificial, and horribly mutated, tomato plant and it's tomatos. Using real tomatos to base my latex hybrids on and various other materials, I built the titular character. I also oversaw the construction of a mechaniasm that automatically fed and tended to the plants needs. It was also my duty to manufacture large amounts of gore that were used to simulate the flesh and blood that the plant lives on (February, 2001.) Sculptor, mold-maker, fabricator and assembler for Penwal Industries in Rancho Cucamonga, California. I sculpted large blocks of rigid polyurethane foam into componants of a full-scale replica of the Saturn V rocket. The componants were molded and cast in fiberglass. On this project, I also ran silicone molds of other smaller pieces of the replica that were then cast in urethane casting plastic. My other duties involved operating disc sanders, lathes, drill presses, band saws, and light metal working. (February through June, 1999.) Oversaw the production and design of latex Halloween masks for Alexander Costumes' mask line. Designing many of their most popular masks and props. While supervising a crew of 10 on daily production schedules, I was busy designing and sculpting new product. I also designed and sculpted several licensed characters at this time for Nintendo (a mask verson of their "Fulgore" character) and Caesar's Palace (a small latex/foam-filled prop of their "Griffin" mascott, a small latex/foam-filled "Dragon Emblum" wallmount, and the same "Dragon Emblum" as a hand puppet.). (September 1992 through August 1996.) "The Vindicator". Theatrical Play directed by David Brock. I designed and produced the latex cowl and polyurethane costume worn by the title character. (May 1992.) "Witch's Blood". Theatrical Play directed by Rebecca Brock. I provided special effects and character make-ups. (October, 1992.) "Addict". Theatrical Play production by Pomona High School. My duty was to desigh and produce an elaborate hurn make-up that was applied mightly by the actor wearing it. A gelatin face appliance was used in conjunction with a bald cap, which allowed the actor's hair to be pulled through in several areas to represent fire damage. (November, 1992.) Make-up Consultant for House of Humor in Montclair, California. I helped customers desigh their Halloween costumes and make-up. I also sold several masks of my own desigh on consignment. (September, 1992 through November 1992 and September 1991 through November 1991.) "Zombie Party" (a.k.a. "The Beer Creatures"). Independent film directed by Rodd Matsui. Special Make-up Effects Assistant. I provided foam latex appliances, applied make-ups and performed as a background extra. (August, 1986.) |
